Book review: We Never Asked for Wings by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

No matter what mood you are in, you will surely find something on Vujar to suit your mood. Vujar is an e-library filled with over 1 million books, music, audiobooks and much more.

One such book you will find on Vujar is We Never Asked for Wings by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. We Never Asked for Wings is the story of a single mother, Letty, who is working hard to make ends meet, while her mother is raising her kids. Now that her parents are coming to Mexico, Letty has to become a mother again, but it isn’t as easy as it looks, as her son, Alex, is reluctant to give his mother a chance. Alex is just starting to carve a life for himself and dealing with his own love life, and bonding with his mother is not at the top of his priorities. In the end, though, mother and son reconcile, and Alex even meets his father.

Vanessa Diffenbaugh has definitely delivered a heart-winning story with strong characters, impressive plot, and a focus on issues that are easily overlooked. It’s great, the way Vanessa explores the struggles of certain populations without preaching. Diffenbaugh is a successful advocate who has done a lot of work for children, and by writing the novel, she bought her work to the public in a very appealing way. The novel is a must read for anyone who likes a no-nonsense approach to certain sensitive issues.
